Privacy Policy

Effective date: December 16, 2025

HopAlert is designed to be privacy-first. The app runs locally on your device and only transmits anonymized usage data via a third-party analytics provider. Below is a full explanation of what data is accessed, used, or transmitted.

Information We Access

HopAlert accesses the following device features solely to provide its core functionality:

Use of TelemetryDeck for Analytics

HopAlert uses the privacy-focused analytics service TelemetryDeck (provider: TelemetryDeck GmbH, Von-der-Tann-Str. 54, 86159 Augsburg, Germany) to analyze anonymized app usage. For more information: TelemetryDeck Privacy Snippet

TelemetryDeck collects only anonymized, non-personal usage data that does not allow identifying individuals. This may include:

What is not collected or stored:

TelemetryDeck’s SDK source code is open source and available on GitHub.

Information We Do Not Collect

HopAlert does not collect or transmit:

No personal or location data ever leaves your device except for anonymized usage signals via TelemetryDeck.

Data Storage & Deletion

All HopAlert configuration data (e.g., your saved trips) remains on your device. Deleting the app removes this data. TelemetryDeck analytics data is stored by TelemetryDeck under their own retention policies — see TelemetryDeck Privacy for details.

Third-Party Services

Besides TelemetryDeck, HopAlert uses only Apple system frameworks (Core Location, Notifications). No other third-party services receive data from the app.

Children’s Privacy

HopAlert does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
